Adaptations:

In order for Llamas to be able to climb to high altitudes, the hemoglobin (an oxygen carrying pigment) in their red blood cells has a much greater affinity for oxygen than that of other mammals, and the blood contains more red corpuscles (oxygen carrying cells). Lama glama also has hoofed feet with an even number of toes that make it sure-footed on steep and rocky mountainsides.
