Permits & Regulations

According to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin law provides for a variety of hunting, fishing, and recreational use permits designed to help people with disabilities enjoy the state's natural resources. The following information is important if you have a permanent or temporary physical disability or if you are legally blind. The DNR issues a variety of permits that allow you to:

· Hunt from a Stationary Vehicle

· Class A for permanent disability.

· Class B for temporary disability.

· Hunt with a Crossbow

· Class A for permanent disability.

· Class B for temporary disability.

· Receive a Discount on your Resident Annual Fishing License

· Fishing while Trolling with an Electric Motor

· Sponsor or participate in Gun Deer Hunts for People with Disabilities

 

 

Permit Applications

 

Please contact your physician, physical therapist, or chiropractor for testing associated with the following permits. 

The Class A Permit Application is for hunters whose physical disabilities are permanent.

The Class B Permit Application is for hunters with temporary or permanent physical disabilities.

The Class C Permit Application is for legally blind hunters. Laser sights may not be used by any hunters unless they have a valid Class C Permit.

The Crossbow Permit Application is for hunters with permanent physical disabilities only and requires testing by a licensed physician, physical therapist, or chiropractor.

The application to hunt from a motorized vehicle on state lands is available to Class A, B, and C permit holders.
